Free Nursery Education is available to all children the term after their 3rd Birthday.
Why is it Free?
The Nursery Education Grant (funding from the Government) pays for up to 5 sessions* per week for 38 weeks over a year.
(* a session is 2 ½ hrs either in the morning or afternoon).
How many sessions can I claim?
You may claim up to 5 free sessions per week, e.g every morning or every afternoon for a maximum of 38 weeks over a year.
What times are the free sessions?
Sessions are during Term time: 9.15am –11.45pm or 1.00pm – 3.30pm.
When are the Terms?
There are 3 terms per year Spring, Summer and Autumn. We will advise you the dates for each term.

How do I claim?
Each term the Nursery staff will give you a ‘Parent Declaration Form’ on which you should confirm your child’s details, how many session he/she attends each week and where. You then hand this back to the Nursery staff who will submit a claim to the Local Education Authority (LEA) for the grant.
